Intimate Weddings: Celebrating Love at Islington Town Hall, London

Nestled in the vibrant streets of London, Islington Town Hall has to be one of the most elegant and understated venues. Offering couples ceremony rooms with varied style and size, it’s definitely one of my favourite town halls in London. I have to say the hallways with the tall windows are my favourite photo spot. My second favourite being the front steps, the perfect backdrop for your confetti photo.

From the grande Council Chamber to the intimate Canonbury Suite, Islington Town Hall boasts a variety of ceremony rooms, each offering its own distinct character and feel. The Council Chamber, the largest room, features beautiful stained-glass windows and statement red carpet. While the Canonbury suite has a cute city chic feel with soft pinks and natural light. It has a cozy atmosphere creating the perfect backdrop for a city elopement. Whether you envision a huge celebration or a private exchange of vows, Islington Town Hall provides a lot of options right in the city centre.

Having said that, London has a lot of great Town Halls to offer. Get in touch if you would like to know more about others in the city. I’ve had the honour of photographing many ceremonies here at Islington Town Hall and I usually plan a little 5-10 minute walking route just outside to take couple portraits that capture what I call your “newlywed bubble” in that urban setting - Think cute town houses on a romantic walk.
