Modern and Intimate: A small Wedding at York House and No1 Duke Street in Richmond, London.

Tom and Bliss’s wedding day was the perfect blend of intimacy, personal touches and modern wedding planning. The most amazing thing about small weddings is the relaxed and joyous atmosphere. The day flowed naturally and radiated their personalities and love for each other… and their cats. It was an unforgettable day.

A Relaxed Start at Richmond Hill Hotel

In a bid to break from tradition, Tom and Bliss got ready together at the charming Richmond Hill Hotel. We had a very laidback and chilled morning filled with cheesy music and a few spiced rums to calm the nerves. I loved photographing the intimate moments they shared, It only highlighted the love and support they have for each other.

It was the little moments that set the tone of the day. The way Tom helped Bliss get into her bridal jumpsuit, Finishing up on his speech, or deciding which hand bag goes best with Bliss’s outfit.

Celebrating Their Feline Friends

Their furry family members, Bella and Talula were celebrated throughout the day. They had their very own signature cocktails paired with napkins that had their faces on. Even Bliss’s veil was delicately embroidered with the cats names. It was such a lovely way to include them. During the ceremony, the cats were lovingly mentioned, and Bliss’s bouquet featured the most beautiful charm with portraits of both cats so they were with her in spirit.

An Intimate Dinner at No1 Duke Street

When it comes to planning a small wedding, I feel the hardest part is finding a private dining space. No1 Duke street in Richmond was the perfect place for this wedding party. With under 20 guests this setting provided a cosy and exclusive space. They had their own private bar, comfy seating and one large dining table that seated everybody together. It was such a lovely setting and the perfect way to celebrate their intimate wedding in London.

Golden Hour and Modern Cake

I could see that golden glow coming through the little windows and just knew the sunset was going to be worth catching for golden hour photos I stole them away from their guests for ten minutes and we walked across to Richmond Green. Bliss had let her hair down and they were feeling so relaxed after the most amazing day. This will always be my favourite time to capture couple photos because you’re less worried about things being perfect and just happy to be loved up and enjoy those quiet few minutes together before your day comes to an end.

The plan was to do the cake cut as soon as we got back to the venue. In keeping with their modern theme, they had a white heart-shaped cake. They immediately grabbed two forks to give it a try.

A Testament to the Beauty and Simplicity of Intimate Weddings

Tom and Bliss’s wedding day delivered a great example of how you can have both traditional and unconventional elements to a micro wedding. It was planned perfectly to the couple’s personalities which proved a wedding doesn’t need to be grand in scale to be grand in sentiment.

Their day was filled with personal touches that made it uniquely theirs. From the decision to get ready together, celebrating their cats, to the intimate setting of their wedding reception, every detail was a reflection of their love story.

What matters most when planning your wedding day, is that it reflects who you are as a couple and the love you share. Your day is yours to craft no matter how large or small your guest list is.

In the end, Tom and Bliss’s day was a modern dream. A day filled with personality, love and cherished moments. It was a beautiful reminder that the most important aspect of any wedding is the celebration of love in a way that feels genuine and true to you.
